The NC Division of Public Health begins planning in January for the School Nurse Conference, to be held in October. Please contact your regional school nurse consultant for:

1) a form on which you can write your ideas and speaker suggestions

The conference is designed for and about school nurses in North Carolina.Successful accomplishment of this goal depends on the input of North Carolina school nurses.

Check AHEC listings for The School Nurse Certification Review course.  This course is sponsored by the Eastern AHEC with consultative input by the Division of Public Health School Health Unit.

The Division of Public Health is investigating alternative ways to provide school nurse continuing education and training in the face of budget constraints both at the state and local levels. Currently, travel by the state school nurse consultants is limited to what is essential to provide appropriate assistance and monitoring.

The School Health Unit awaits the Governor’s budget and legislative priorities before making further commitments on continuing education or program modifications.
